The Rotary Club of Fernie is celebrating another sold-out success for its signature event, Feast for a Cause, held Saturday, May 3 at the Fernie Memorial Arena.
In its second year, the community fundraiser welcomed 200 guests for an evening of gourmet food, local connection, and charitable giving.

“Feast for a Cause is quickly becoming one of Fernie’s most anticipated events,” said Cindy Pearson, President of the Rotary Club of Fernie. “We’re grateful for the incredible generosity of our community.”
Thanks to strong attendance and sponsorship support, the event raised over $35,000 to help purchase two critical diagnostic machines for Elk Valley Hospital (Fernie), in partnership with the East Kootenay Foundation for Health (EKFH). Remaining funds will support future Fernie Rotary-led community initiatives.
- Best Bite: Bridge Bistro
- People’s Choice: Elevated Plate Catering
- Chef’s Choice: Island Lake Lodge
“This year’s winners truly impressed with their flavour, presentation, and creativity,” said Chef Barrie Elliott, Feast’s Culinary Advisor.
The evening’s success was powered by generous contributions from key sponsors including Elk Valley Resources (EVR), Eldho’s Independent Grocery, NWP Coal, PJB Crane Services, Lauren Gervais PREC – Century 21, McElhanney, Stellar Vista Credit Union, and Tourism Fernie.
Rotary also extends heartfelt thanks to the organizing team—Rotarians Bill Pittman and Rex Kary, Chef Barrie Elliott, Tammy Ogden, and Jen Boucher—for their behind-the-scenes dedication.
From chefs and sponsors to volunteers and guests, Feast for a Cause is a true community effort—and a growing tradition in Fernie.
