Optim Medical Center-Screven is opening its doors to the community with a free Healthcare Explorer event, offering a hands-on look at the healthcare services available locally. Attendees can meet Optim providers and staff, explore the latest in local healthcare, and connect with community partners offering valuable resources and demonstrations.
Optim Medical Center-Screven invites the community to Healthcare Explorer: Live Well with Optim, a free, interactive event designed to showcase the wide range of care and services available in Sylvania—far beyond the ER.
The event will be held Thursday, November 6, from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. in the courtyard at Optim Medical Center-Screven, 215 Mims Road, Sylvania, GA 30467. The event will take place rain or shine and will move indoors if needed due to weather.
Healthcare Explorer offers a hands-on opportunity to meet Optim providers and staff, explore the latest in local healthcare, and connect with community partners offering valuable resources and demonstrations.
Event Highlights:
- Physical + Occupational Therapy: Get moving with hands-on mobility and posture demos.
- Swing Bed / Mobility Courtyard: Learn how short-stay rehabilitation keeps recovery local.
- Imaging + Lab: Take a peek behind the scenes at the technology supporting your care.
- Primary Care: Receive a flu shot, check vital signs, and talk about preventive health with teams from the clinics of Dr. Sidney Morgan, Dr. Prakul Chandra and Dr. Sherma Peter.
- Interventional Pain Management: Meet Dr. Jessica Reyes and learn about pain management services available locally.
- Orthopedics: Pick up information about Optim’s orthopedic clinic and services available in Sylvania.
- Community Partners: Visit the Mammography Bus, Ross Drugs, and the Screven County Health Department for additional health and wellness resources.
As part of the event, Optim will also host a food drive benefiting the Screven County Community Collaborative, Inc. Attendees who wish to participate are encouraged to bring a canned good or non-perishable food item to donate and help support local families in need.
Attendees can pick up a Healthcare Explorer Card at check-in and get it stamped at each booth to enter for hourly drawings for Premium Padded Folding Reclining Camping Chairs (valued at $50 each) and a Grand Prize drawing for a Yeti Hopper Flip Soft Cooler valued at $375.
“Healthcare Explorer is about helping people discover just how much care is available right here at home,” said Optim Medical Center-Screven Chief Administrative Officer, Lagina Evans. “It’s a great way to meet our team, learn about our services, and give back to the community we serve.”
